Most questions answer themselves once you know where to look. This is the short version.
Posting an ad
- How long does an ad stay live?
- 30 days from when payment clears. You can renew from your dashboard a week before it expires.
- How much does it cost?
- A basic 30-day listing starts at just a few pounds. Featured placement and category bumps cost more — you'll see the exact options at the payment step.
- Can I edit my ad after posting?
- Yes. Open it from Dashboard → My listings → Edit. Major edits (changing the category, price by >25%) re-enter moderation.
- My ad was rejected. Why?
- The most common reasons are: prohibited items, watermarks on photos, contact info in the body (use the messaging system instead), or duplicate listings. You'll get a specific reason by email.
Buying
- How do I contact a seller?
- The Message seller button on every listing. Don't share phone numbers or addresses until you've agreed terms.
- Can I get a refund?
- Spotbly is a peer-to-peer marketplace — we don't hold the money or guarantee the item. That said, if a listing was fraudulent we'll act on it; see the safety page for what to do.
- What does the Verified tick mean?
- The seller has confirmed their email address. It's a baseline trust signal, not a guarantee — always still inspect items in person.
Account
- I forgot my password
- Use the Forgot password link on the login page. A reset email arrives within a minute.
- How do I delete my account?
- Dashboard → Privacy → Delete account. Your listings come down, your messages are anonymised, your data is purged within 30 days.
