About Spotbly

Spotbly is a British classifieds marketplace built by a small team who got tired of how the old ones felt.

Why we built it

If you've used the major UK classifieds sites recently, you'll have noticed how heavy they've become. Pop-ups, autoplay video, "you may also like" rails that have nothing to do with what you were looking for, sponsored placements dressed up as organic results. The interface gets in the way of the thing you came to do.

Spotbly is a deliberate counter-reaction. The page you're reading right now is the entire visual language. Listings on the homepage. Categories on the categories page. No tracking pixels, no advertiser money, no AI-generated "trends." Just things people are selling, places people are letting, and work people are hiring for.

How we pay the bills

A small fee — just a few pounds for a basic 30-day listing — keeps the spam out and keeps us going. No subscriptions, no auto-renewals, no surveillance economy.

Who's behind it

A small team, based in the UK, building something they'd want to use themselves. We answer support emails ourselves. We make moderation decisions ourselves. If something feels off, you're not arguing with a chatbot — you're talking to a person.

What's next

The roadmap is on our blog. The short version: better safety tooling, better seller verification, better mobile apps. Slowly. Properly. No moves we'll regret in five years.
